Athlete Social Media Influencer

Special Olympics Kansas seeks an enthusiastic and eager social media guru for the position of Athlete Social Media Influencer. This exciting opportunity will require the candidate to assist in social media and online presence efforts for Special Olympics Kansas by providing the unique perspective of athlete experience to our existing online platforms. This position will also assist in other events, initiatives, and office assistance tasks in support of Special Olympic Kansas’ strategic goals.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS KANSAS Internships

Our goal is to cultivate a mutually beneficial relationship. While the intern provides his or her supervisor with professional and efficient support, the supervisor will educate the intern on the specific components of non-profit management and give him or her hands-on experience. The internship programs are outlined below. Please reach out to Taylor Obersteadtt@ksso.org regarding questions or applying for an internship with Special Olympics Kansas.

HEALTH PROGRAMS INTERN

The Health Programs Intern will gain hands-on experience in the areas of developing, planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating fitness and wellness programming for athletes, coaches, and volunteers. SOKS will work with student to develop a schedule that accommodates the intern’s time with classes and employment. Internship location will be completed virtually and/or in Mission, KS as necessary.

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

The Communications Intern assists with overall public relations, media relations, marketing, and event planning activities of Special Olympics Kansas to help strengthen the SOKS presence in the state and build awareness about the programs and fundraisers. SOKS will work with student to develop a schedule that accommodates the intern’s time with classes and employment. Internship location is in Mission, KS or can be completed virtually as necessary.

SPORTS PROGRAMS INTERN

The Sports & Programs Intern assists with the planning and implementation of Special Olympics Kansas training and competition events. Appropriate assignments can be developed for students majoring in: sports management, sports marketing, event management, physical education, adaptive physical education, non-profit management, special education, and recreation. Our goal is to cultivate a mutually beneficial relationship.
