Annual State Basketball Tournament Moves to Manhattan

Starting in 2023, the Special Olympics Kansas State Basketball tournament will move from Topeka, Kansas, and take place in Manhattan, Kansas. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, 2023.

The tournament will be held at Anthony Recreation Center (2415 Browning Ave) and Eisenhower Recreation Center (2850 Kirkwood Dr.) Four Points by Sheraton (530 Richards Dr.) will be the host hotel where Friday evening activities will be held. “

Special Olympics Kansas is truly excited to bring our State Basketball Tournament to Manhattan, Kansas” President and CEO of Special Olympics, John Lair said. “Manhattan has a great history with Special Olympics Kansas and we look forward to bringing this great event to the little apple.”

The 2023 tournament is expected to have 800 athletes competing, 200 coaches, and 85 basketball teams from 20 Special Olympics Kansas organizations.
