2022 Special Olympics

World Winter Games

The Special Olympics World Winter Games in Kazan, Russia in 2022 will serve as a catalyst that will challenge perceptions about people with intellectual disabilities, and all people with differences, and demonstrate to the world the power of sport to establish thriving, inclusive communities by transforming attitudes and behaviors.

From January 22-28th, 2022 2,000 athletes and Unified partners from 108 Nations and 3,000 Volunteers from all over the world will gather in Kazan to create acceptance and inclusion through sport, volunteerism, education and health.

KANSAS DELEGATION QUOTA

Kansas has been awarded three athlete positions for the 2021 Special Olympics World Winter Games. They are as follows:

1 Female Downhill Skier – intermediate skill level
1 Female Snowshoer – level 1 skill, 25m and 50m distance
1 Male Snowshoer – level 2 skill, 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay
