Together, we can achieve.
Help us reach one more athlete in your home town and give the wonderful gifts of opportunity, inclusion, health, achievement and JOY through Special Olympics Kansas! Your gift will help fund competitions, Health and Wellness programming, coaches’ education and much more for each of our 5,400 athletes across Kansas. Your gift helps carry our “Flame of Hope” to each county in Kansas. Below are ways to donate to Special Olympics Kansas.

Gifts of Stock or Life Insurance
Gifts of Stock
Special Olympics Kansas gratefully accepts gifts of stock, and you can receive significant tax benefits when you give appreciated stocks and bonds. With a gift of stock, you can take a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock. In addition to a charitable gift tax deduction, a gift of stock offers the extra benefit of avoiding capital gains tax on your stocks’ appreciation.
Gifts of Life Insurance
While most people own some form of life insurance because of its unique ability to meet a variety of needs for financial protection, its role in planned charitable giving is frequently overlooked. Life insurance itself can be the direct funding medium of a gift, permitting the donor to make a substantial gift for a relatively modest outlay. Insurance can also replace the value of an asset given to a charitable organization.

Is it time to Review Your Will? Planned Giving helps donors provide a legacy for future Special Olympics athletes who dream of one day winning gold! Our giving might be something learned from our parents, based in faith, or driven by a life-changing event. Whatever, your motivation, your legacy gift will ensure that our work empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through health programs, sports training and competition continues long into the futures.
For more information, download our planned giving informational brochure or visit our gift planning website.
To make a bequest to the Special Olympics movement in the U.S., and around the world, we recommend the following language:
“I give, devise, and bequeath ____% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate (or the sum of $___) to Special Olympics Kansas-Mission, Kansas, for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
“I give, devise, and bequeath ____% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate (or the sum of $___) to Special Olympics Inc., Washington, DC, for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
It is highly recommended that donors consult with their own tax or legal advisors prior to making a planned gift.
We will be good stewards of the funds entrusted to us. You deserve nothing less.
From time to time Companies offer Special Promotions that directly benefit Special Olympics Kansas and we encourage your participation. Click on this link to access the current programs.
Special Olympics Kansas, Inc. is not a designated United Way Agency. However, it is possible to receive funds from individuals through Community Health Charities (CHC), of which we are a member. The CHC works in tandem with United Way Campaigns, the Combined Federal Campaigns and Workplace Giving Campaign. As long as you have the SOKS numbers (codes listed below) and write it on a Donor Designation Form, your contribution will be directed to SOKS. Please don’t let the list of codes confuse you. Simply identify which campaign you or your firm is participating in, and then the SOKS code that corresponds with it. If you have any questions, please contact Luke Schulte via email or phone at any time – firstname.lastname@example.org, 620.408.4450
