Maize Unified Torch Run

June 2nd   6:30 – 9:00 p.m

1.8 mile Community Fun Run/Walk  starting at Sam’s Club (3084 N. Maize Rd) and ending at Maize South High School at the Special Olympics KS Summer Games Opening Ceremony.
Members of the public can join the official Torch Runners led by the Flame of Hope & are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony.   Check-in and walk up registration starts at 6:30 p.m.; Run/walk starts 7:30 p.m.; Event ends with the presentation of the torch at 8:30 p.m. at the Opening Ceremony. Kansas Heart & Sole Classic – Saturday, May 6th – 5K Run/Walk & 10K Run

Hosted by Olathe Running Club to benefit SOKS

Course  – The race course is located in downtown Olathe, just south of Santa Fe Street and one mile east of Highway 7. The Run/Walk will start and finish near the intersection of Park and Cherry streets on the east side of the Johnson County Square behind the courthouse. See the course on Garmin Connect. Both 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified.

Why are Cops Waiting on Tables? Cops and Special Olympics athletes make a great team!  Officers wait on tables in hopes of earning “tips” to support the SOKS athletes. At the same time officers create awareness of the unique relationship between Law Enforcement and SOKS.  All “tips” received are donated to SOKS
